Basic First Aid

Basic First Aid for Accident or Minor Injury

Free medical checkups and diagnosis are a vital part of basic health care, or else the risk of avoidable infections increases and overwhelms the hospital system.
Our doctors will provide advice and medical supplies to support the recovery of minor injuries such as cuts, sprains, knocks, and illness.
The free treatment of minor injuries relies on donations and volunteers, so all contributions are very welcome.

Basic Medical Examination

Our on-call doctors are available to serve any patient who requests their services (subject to availability and demand), including free basic health advice or treatment.
Once examined, general physicians will recommend a course of action which may involve visiting a specialist. Such specialists will not be on-site but elsewhere in Faisalabad.
While Pakistan’s administration of basic health education has improved in recent decades, there is still room for improvement, meaning many require professional help for basic examinations.

General Medicine

Our free basic medicine supplies are an essential part of maintaining a basic health unit in Pakistan and all donations play a vital role in this supply.
This service is targeted at curing seasonal diseases in their early stage such as dengue fever, malaria, diarrhoea, and typhoid.
Malaria is one of Pakistan’s leading causes of death and immediate treatment is vital for survival. Left undetected, many more underprivileged patients will not receive the treatment they need.

Blood Bank & Thalassemia Centre

Thalassemia is a blood disorder which causes the body to make an abnormal form of haemoglobin. This can lead to anaemia or fatigue, stopping the patient from functioning most effectively.
The Health Collab has the expertise on hand to provide free basic health advice to diagnose the disease and prescribe a course of action depending on the patient’s severity. For serious cases of Thalassemia, a blood transfusion can deliver a healthy amount of protein to the patient, giving them the strength and energy to function. Severe cases will require regular blood transfusion. For mild cases of Thalassemia, The Health Collab can provide free basic medical prescriptions of vitamin B, allowing the patient to continue functioning properly.

Medical Equipment

A free basic health treatment isn’t possible without the correct equipment. Donations to The Health Collab allow us to invest in reliable equipment that will serve in-need patients well. Equipment can be used for free minor injuries dressing or for the free treatment of minor injuries.

Hijama

The origin of this ancient practice remains contested between northern Africa, the Middle East, and Asia, but Hijama or “cupping” involves the suctioning and drawing of unhealthy blood.
As some blood disorders can reduce life expectancy to below 50, it is vital to diagnose and treat these cases in any way possible.
The Health Collab is dedicated to maintaining this traditional practice in Pakistan and will gladly offer Hijama if the patient is averse to certain medications.

Laboratory Facility, X-Ray & Ultrasound

The Health Collab is purely donations-based and these more complex facilities demand a large portion of our funding. While their cost is significant compared to that of bandages or basic medical supplies, a laboratory, X-ray machine and ultrasound will all contribute heavily to our other services. Blood disorders can be treated far more effectively by a reputable laboratory as samples can be scrutinised in a secure setting. An X-ray machine allows the same kind of certainty for broken bones, while an ultrasound offers a clearer picture of internal injuries and pregnancies. Our underprivileged patients would have little to no access to these facilities without The Health Collab, underscoring the importance of our services.

Mobile Healthcare Services

We’re taking free basic medicine on the road! Our mobile healthcare services will cater to underprivileged patients who don’t have the mobility to reach our premises in Faisalabad. This will increase the frequency of free followup check ups, ensuring outpatient services are as important as the rest of our organisation. Just because someone has left The Health Collab’s premises, doesn’t mean they don’t still need our help!
